Afghanistan's young generation is growing up in a rapidly changing digital world — one where phones, computers, and online learning can open doors to education, connection, and innovation. But digital access in Afghanistan is not equal for everyone.

Today, around 22–25% of Afghans have some form of internet access, but fewer than 15% of women and girls can go online regularly. In many rural areas, connectivity is weak or unaffordable, and power outages make online learning difficult. Yet, mobile phones remain the most common gateway — even a simple smartphone can become a tool for learning, earning, and sharing ideas.

Despite these challenges, young Afghans are showing incredible creativity. Across the country, youth are using digital tools to teach, design, run small businesses, and advocate for change. Digital literacy and safety skills give them more than access — they give them freedom, opportunity, and voice. Through AYA's digital learning platform, every young person can learn to use technology safely, confidently, and creatively to shape a better future.
